Blue Earth was established in 1998 from our desire to create body products that are handmade and natural, with high quality raw ingredients. In 1999, we relocated to the foothills of New Zealand's Southern Alps where we had a vision of self-sufficiency and simplicity - surrounded by mountains, native forest and a snow fed river. As we are not connected to a national power network Blue Earth is reliant primarily on the suns energy for power and heating.

Our philosophy also incorporates the beauty and importance of the handcrafted product. Inspired by artist and craftsman William Morris, we saw the benefits of remaining manually involved in our product rather than reliance on mechanisation. We believe this creates a very personal and special product, in what can seem a highly impersonal world.

Our personal values and conscience are reflected in Blue Earth. Our products are not tested on animals and are free of animal derived ingredients.

Blue Earth endeavours to recycle and minimise wastage within our manufacturing where possible. Our product packaging is minimal and mindful of its impact on our environment.

We believe that the seemingly small decisions we make in our lives do make a difference.
